A boy of eight went missing on an organised camping trip, whilst playing hide and seek. Exmoor Search and Rescue team searched woodland for two operational periods with help from the Dartmoor Rescue Group Okehampton and Tavistock sections. A search party found the boy 24 hours after last being seen, other than being cold and wet he was uninjured.

A sixty five year old diabetic lady who was due into hospital for a serious operation later that day went missing from her home during the morning. Circumstances led to concern for her welfare. The team were called out in the early evening and returned home after 4’ o’clock the next morning after some members had undertaken round trips in excess of 200 miles. The search was suspended after initial search areas had been searched several times by Police and team members.

The team were called out during the monthly indoor meeting. An 85-year-old man had gone missing from a Nursing Home earlier in the evening.  The Police helicopter found a faint heat source, which was found to be the missing person, around 200 metres away from the home. He was unhurt harmed and was returned without hospital treatment.

At the same time as being stood down from the Pinkery call-out, Avon and Somerset Police asked the team to re-deploy to Taunton. No details were available before the team were stood down on route.
