Exmoor Search and Rescue Team

The Exmoor Search and Rescue Team provides a Search and Rescue service across large parts of Devon and Somerset. We assist the Police in locating lost or missing persons and recovering the injured or ill from remote locations. We are made up entirely of highly skilled volunteer members Team members are on call 365 days a year, 24 hours a day We work closely with Avon & Somerset Police, Devon & Cornwall Police and South Western Ambulance We are members of Mountain Rescue (England and Wales) and South West England Rescue Association Our operational area covers remote rural locations including Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills as well as urban areas such as Taunton & Barnstaple We are a charitable organisation and receive no government funding.
The team generally cover an area anywhere north of a line extending east from the Cornish border in the west via Hatherleigh, Crediton, Tiverton and north on to Taunton, Bridgwater and Hinkley Point. It costs over £15,000 a year to run the team and we are funded entirely by voluntary donations. If you would like to support us in our work, your donation would be gratefully received.
