The team were alerted to search for a missing 28 year-old man, who had been attending a wedding at a hotel.  He was known to be wearing inappropriate clothing for the sub-zero temperatures and in a vulnerable state.

Whilst weather conditions prevented Helicopters assisting with the search, the team were joined by HM Coastguard, Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service as well as the several Police Units.

The missing man was located outside of the search area and was taken home by his family.

Following recent heavy snowfall, the team were tasked with assisting the Police to ensure that no motorists were stranded on the recently closed A361 North Devon Link Road.

A Team Land Rover made its way along the A361 with a Police officer on-board from South Molton to Tiverton, whilst the second Team Land Rover surveyed the situation from Wellington to Tiverton, via the M5.

The team's Land Rovers were put on stand-by to help local patients travel home from the Exeter Kidney Unit at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, amidst tretcherous driving conditions.  Normal procedures were subsequently able to deal with the transport arrangements.

A 48 year-old lady had failed to return from a local bicycle ride during the day.  A search along the ditches and edges of the local roads and tracks was undertaken by both the Avon & Somerset Police and Exmoor Search and Rescue Team.

A Police team found the injured lady, in an awkward location twenty metres down a bank in woodland.  The Exmoor Search and Rescue Team organised her recovery whilst a South Western Ambulance Service crew dealt with her injuries.

Following a mobile telephone call from three youths, the Avon & Somerset Police asked the Team to assist in a search of the area.  The incident was soon resolved by HM Coastguard as the team were en route.

A vulnerable woman went missing from her home in the village of Bilbrook, between Williton and Minehead, during the early evening.  There was concern that she may have come to harm close to her home, so the team were tasked with searching areas close by into the early hours of Sunday morning.

The lady was later found in the morning by Police in Taunton.

The team assisted the Devon and Cornwall Police in the search for a 46 year old lady in the Braunton Area.  She had last been seen on 1st November and her car was found in Braunton on the afternoon of 10th November.

Assisted by a SARDA search dog, the team searched the local area throughout the day.  The search was suspended at dusk, whilst the Police continue their enquiries.

Whilst the team were deploying for the ongoing search at Prayway Head, Avon & Somerset Police contacted the team to ask for assistance in the search for an 80 year old gentleman.  The man had been reported missing from Webber's Post in Exmoor National Park.  Within minutes, the man was found and the police immediately stood the team down.

Whilst supporting the Exmoor 30:30 endurance event, a member of the public flagged down a Team Land Rover.  The team were informed that a man was missing and long overdue from his planned walk on Exmoor.

Avon and Somerset Police were contacted and the team immediately re-deployed to search for the missing 68 year-old gentleman and his dog.  Weather conditions had been bad all day, with strong winds and fog blanketing the moor.

After less than two hours of searching, a search team located the missing gentleman wandering around lost in the fog on Cheriton Ridge.  The man was a little cold, but otherwise healthy, so was kept warm in a team shelter whilst a Land Rover was deployed off-road directly to the location on the ridge.

The man was re-united with his wife back at Prayway Head before darkness fell.

The team were asked to assist in the search for a vulnerable 20 year old woman in Taunton.  The Police swiftly found the missing lady before the team were deployed.

The search from the previous evening continued.  The areas searched in darkness were re-searched and further surrounding areas were included in the search.  The missing person was located by an ESRT search party at around 15.30hrs.  The Police then took care of re-uniting him with his family.

After a long day helping the Exmoor National Park Authority at the annual Exmoor Perambulation, the team was asked to assist in the search for a 50 year old male at West Buckland near Wellington.  A search was conducted of areas near to his home, but by 1am he had not been located, so a decision was taken to continue the search in daylight the next morning.

The team were contacted on Sunday evening by Avon and Somerset Police and asked to search for a missing 57 year old man.  The man had been reported missing from his home in Crewkerne earlier in the afternoon.

Exmoor Search & Rescue Team searched nearby fields, farms, tracks and woodland throughout the night alongside Police Search Teams and the Police Helicopter.

The search was briefly halted at 0300hrs on Monday to allow team members to rest before being recommenced in daylight later in the morning.  Fresh resources including search dogs, additional SARDA Dog Handlers from Dartmoor Rescue Group and further Police search teams were called upon to assist in the search.

A further full day of exhaustive searching was undertaken with possible sightings of the man by the public being swiftly investigated.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed that they are scaling down the search, following a positive sighting of the missing person which is being investigated.

On an already busy Easter Sunday, the team were called by Devon and Cornwall Police and asked to search for a 39 year old woman who had been reported missing from her home in the Braunton area. 

HM Coastguard were tasked with searching the dunes and open areas around Braunton Burrows, whilst the RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter from Chivenor mounted a search along the coastline and the popular Tarka Trail.  Exmoor Search and Rescue Team contentrated efforts inland around the woman's home, nearby fields and woodland.

By 4am, the woman had not been found and it was decided to suspend the search until later that morning.  As the team were also coordinating another major search on the Quantock Hills during this time, it was decided to hand control of the ongoing search to fresh colleagues from North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.

By the morning, further police enquiries had led to the woman being found in Barnstaple.

The team were called out to the Quantock Hills early in the morning of Easter Sunday to search for a missing 39 year old man.  The Police were very concerned for his welfare.

Exmoor Search & Rescue Team were joined by Police Search Teams, Helicopter, Police Dogs, Mounted Police Units and four SARDA Search dogs in an intensive search of the area over the course of the day.

The search was suspended during the evening and was recommenced on Monday with two SARDA Search dogs and a navigator from Exmoor Search and Rescue Team.  The northern areas of the Quantock Hills were again searched, but no further sign of the man was found.

UPDATE: After further enquiries by Avon and Somerset Police over the following week, the man was located in North Devon.

Concern over the welfare of a 22 year old male from Taunton, led to the Team being called to assist in a search along both the River Tone and the Taunton & Bridgwater Canal.  Subsequent Police investigations found the missing person around midday.

The team were asked to assist in the search for a 21 year old female missing from the village of Pitminster, near Taunton.  The lady was found in fields south of Taunton, from where she was taken to Hospital.

The Avon and Somerset Police reported a driver and passenger in a 4x4 vehicle stuck in snow drifts somewhere near Simonsbath.  The driver soon contacted the Police to say that a Farmer was assisting them.
