The Exmoor Search & Rescue Team Water Section were placed on standby by Devon & Cornwall Police at 17:30hrs yesterday, in response to serious rainfall across Devon and Cornwall, with the anticipation of flooding across the Counties.

Under the instruction of Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and alongside colleagues from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Ashburton, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Plymouth, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock and East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team, the Team deployed to a large scale rescue operational to evacuate residents of a caravan park near Notter Bridge, Saltash where the River Lynher had topped its banks and flooded a large of of the park.
