New Years Day kicked up a gear for Exmoor Search & Rescue Team as we were tasked by Avon and Somerset Police to assist Devon Air Ambulance Trust and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with the evacuation of an injured horse-rider from Exmoor National Park.

18 Team Members, including our 4 Team Vehicles, deployed to the RV, with the first Team Members and Team Vehicles on-scene within 45 minutes. As the Team was gathering at the RV, a Team Member made their way to the casualty and was able to confirm that they were in the care of #HEMS, who’d been able to land-on.

Despite it being a balmy 14’C at home, it was certainly feeling fresh up on the Moor! If you’re adventuring this Winter, please remember to #BeAdventureSmart!

We wish the casualty a very speedy recovery!
