Exmoor Search & Rescue Team were deployed by Avon and Somerset Police to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with an injured motocross rider on Exmoor National Park.

Due to mechanical failure ?, the motocross rider had been thrown from his bike at speed, resulting in multiple injuries. The Teams Ambulance (Ex.92) was deployed to provide Paramedic-led support to the on-site medical Team, prior to the arrival of a SWAST Ambulance. In anticipation of a stretcher evacuation, additional Team Vehicles and Team Members made their way to the incident.

The Team was supported by the Air Ambulance from #DAAT, who were tasked to assist with advanced analgesia. Following a thorough assessment, the casualty was able to mobilise and was assisted to a SWAST Ambulance for onward conveyance to hospital. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery!
