The Team was tasked by Avon and Somerset Police to assist with a multi-agency high-risk missing person search near Stogursey.
Exmoor Search & Rescue Team was kindly supported by Team Members from Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue; the Teams deployed alongside colleagues from HM Coastguard Minehead, HM Coastguard Watchet, Burnham Coastguard Rescue Team, the RNLI, Urban Search & Rescue and Police resources including NPAS and Drone Teams.
The search teams stood down at nightfall whilst Police investigations were ongoing.
Search Teams redeployed in the morning, with a multi-agency search hub situated at Hinkley Point. Working alongside colleagues from Maritime and Coastguard Agency, BARB Search & Rescue – Burnham-on-Sea hovercraft, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, Team Members from Exmoor Search & Rescue Team and Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue continued searching until late afternoon. The Team utilised a range of search resources including foot teams, a drone team and two search dog teams.
